True, that's always going to be an issue with the early adopter angle.
tbh I couldn't give 2 figs for more speed in DRAM, just give us more capacity already.
3D DRAM for the win guys.
It's too early too tell.
You can't compare a fairly mature code base like OptiX against HIP RT.
The nu HIP/ROCm 7.0 changes are likely to bring a major version change for HIP RT too, so we'll see if that comes with any new features or perf uplifts.
Either way there isn't really any...
ngl with the less than mind blowing perf uplift of Zen5 after years of hype I'm starting to feel that someone is trying to generate that kind of pre release hype train here.
Not sure I buy into the concept that they somehow need a multi layer core to get more IPC, unless it's just about reducing IO wire lengths between certain parts of the core.
You're not wrong there 😅
IMHO it was a really dumb move to separate mobile and PC brands when they use exactly the same cores anyway.
Who the hell thought Lumex and Niva were great brand names?
Ryzen is brilliant, Oryon is brilliant.
ARM choices are so very meh by comparison.
They should...
This sooooo much.
I see Linux gaming just getting better and better under Valve's watchful eye - and I really want to pull that trigger, but it seems like their attention on regular Windows apps is almost non existent.
Which is sad, because if anyone in the PC space could pull off a mass...
One of their new branded platforms Zena got announced a couple of days ago:

Seems a bit anaemic tbh, just an AE version of Cortex A720, which is actually a step down from the V3AE announced last year for vehicular compute.
Basically standard blurb for ambitious company angling for a big acquisition payout, much like the Nuvia Phoenix before Qualcomm pulled the trigger on it.
Who knows, could be Google this time around and putting evolutions of their AlphaChip model to use on it.
They were late bringing 9070 series, and later still with 9060 series.
Caution to inform their own stratefy has its price, but the Q2 results will probably look a lot better.
Considering the furious sales of 9070 series it's likely that many people who might have bought a 9060 series just pulled the trigger on something more expensive, or even nVidia users sick of their ways when combined with AMD finally bringing home the ML based FSR bacon.
