Horizon Forbidden West 3060 is faster than the 2080 Super despite the former usually competing with the 2070. Also 3060 has a better 1% low than 4060 and 4060Ti 8GB.

14. There's no reason a game should use more than 8GB, because a random forum user said so.
15. It's completely acceptable for the more expensive 3070/3070TI/3080 to turn down settings while the cheaper 3060/6700XT has no issue.

19. 8GB cards aren't meant for 4K / 1440p / 1080p / 720p gaming.
20. It's completely acceptable to disable ray tracing on NV while AMD has no issue.
21. Polls, hardware market share, and game title count are evidence 8GB is enough, but are totally ignored when they don't suit the ray tracing agenda.

Maybe think of the 8 GB cards as an IGP replacement that can also play AAA (albeit at reduced settings)?

Overpriced replacement and making matters worse is that most iGPUs will let you allocate up to 16GB VRAM if you have 32GB system RAM.

It doesn't matter how many fps you get if the frame pacing sucks. I'd rather have a console like locked 30-45fps with max textures, than double the fps with terrible 1s and .1s. or any of the other out of vram issues. Correct settings? More like cope settings.

3050 6GB embarrassed by a little ole APU here in 1% lows. Would be even more embarrassing if the RAM speed were higher.

9700G will hopefully make 3050 6GB a moot point. Why would casual gamers want to bother with the additional power draw and heat?

The only reason we go harder on the team green, is no one bought the 7600. 🤣 And at least it made it down to $230 for a model or 2 during the holidays. Which was much closer to what it is worth. $199 would have been enough to stop the hate. Now it's a travesty at $300+.

Those 3 fan cards are amusing for a 160w card. Not as bad as some of the models in last two gens maybe. Hopefully then run really quiet low rpms to make it worth the size of the card.

I just built a 8600G system for my Dad. It's pretty competent at 1080p with low to medium game defaults and very playable in games that are just a few years old from several videos I saw. I tried Battlefield 2042 on it and got a solid 50-60 FPS. Sadly my Dad and step-mom only play 2D games, but it's a nice sleeper iGPU for when my son visits.
