FYI- word has it the performance was fixed in Assassin's Creed Odyssey then drivers nerfed it again. Weird part is that DXVK now has bad frame times.
Something really weird is going on at the software side of Intel. Maybe they have lost all their best talent.

Intel graphics drivers always sucked, it was only recently with ARC they've been actually trying. They said they were trying after X3000 release, and they said they were trying again with Iris Xe release. But it really wasn't until ARC dGPU they really started trying. Goes to show you nothing substitutes real world experience.
I don't feel that way. I think the 50% bigger frame buffer will play a major role in the next 2 years. My hot take: People that bought team red or green 8GB cards are going to suffer more than someone using a 5600X with B series.
The problem with that is same with the overhead issue though. Always future oriented. The next 2 years they'll have Celestial out which is supposed to be a big change that makes BMG changes look minimal.

I think they'll fix the overhead issue, and soon because of B770 and future faster generations.

But this is a product where I might get personally but won't recommend.

I guess the weather held up my delivery. Won't get my Onix B580 until tomorrow night.

Fabio goes hard. Over an hour of gameplay and 40 games with the Titan B580 and 5700X3D.

Danny does a $750 build with the B580LE. Many of these smaller channels do these price target builds for the algorithm. He fudges on it anyways, because he leaves out tax and shipping costs. I don't agree with doing this build, as he sourced AliExpress for the CPU. In which case, he should have went 7500f and used a less expensive case. Would not have cost much more and there would have been a robust upgrade path instead of being a dead end.

Are these the only 2 cards in the B-series or are more cards expected?

It looks like the overhead issue hasn't affected sales enough to make it noticeable. It seems the overall dissatisfaction against established players are still in play, and RTX 5000 series price and shady marketing tactics doesn't help in regards to that.

B770 is apparently still in the works. Rumors say RTX 4070 Ti performance.

I too, have a hard time recommending ARC for most gamers. Older games are hit or miss on both A and B series. CPU heavy games are tough if you don't have a CPU with enough grunt. No streaming, recording, or metrics overlay built in. Frame pacing issues in games where the other vendors are flatlines. Sketchy long term support prospects. Can lose significant performance in PCIe 3 mode in some titles.

ARC is best for those of us that have a better gaming card already, want to support player 3, and enjoy the box of chocolates experience.

Here is B570 build that also gets close but no cigar. Mistakes on parts choices and testing methodology. Should have went with the Phantom Spirit and looked for a used Z series so they could overclock the 12600kf. At 4.9-5GHz it would have made a difference. 16GB DDR4 is a crime with how cheap DDR4 is. No excuse for not going 32GB, it's 2025.

Left RT on for Rivals instead of competitive settings, come on man. That's the shilly bros for you. Spiderman 2 they didn't even bother getting to free play with crowds and traffic. Frustrating, because I think a fairly standard overclock on the 12600kf would show itself to be a great choice for the build.

Time stamp to start at game tests -

Absolutely, and have some fun tinkering.

When I was Eth mining, I had polaris cards, and I thought of various ways to make it user lower power and/or run cooler.
-CPU heatsink with Noctua F-12: Cut power by ~3W on the fan and ~3W with lower temps.
-Cutting out metal plates from old computer parts and using them as a memory heatsink. Which worked and made it run more stable. Another card had more headroom so I would use low height heatsinks instead.
-Playing with the vBIOS for optimal memory settings. Change a setting, restart, then test. Change another one, restart, then test.

They released a driver for their iGPU after eight years. Bodes well for the new B580 owners. All they need to worry about is Intel staying in business!
